AiU EDU Team- Every Child has Opportunity to Attain Excellent Education

Alor Setar: AiU EDU team has organized school engagement programme on 6 September in Kuala Lumpur Islamic Museum. The program was supported by Teach for Malaysia (TFM) an independent, not-for-profit organization that is enlisting Malaysia’s most promising future leaders in our mission to end education inequity.
Twelve members of EDU team were involved in this programme together with students from SMK Juaseh Kuala Pilah Bahau from Form One to Five.
The main purpose of this programme was to motivate the students to have clear future goals by focusing more on their education practice healthy living style.
As an introduction, students get along with each other’s through ice breaking session where Zumba dance, involves dance and aerobic elements was taken place led by Sukraj Tamang, 21 from Nepal.

Continue with some fun activity which was the treasure hunt taken place in the museum whereby students were divided into five or six students per group. There were eleven check points in which students supposed to perform different tasks. The activity took almost two and half hours.
In the afternoon, all the students gathered to watch shown of different videos about team building and leadership. Shortly after that, there was another game named Hula Hoop Pass.
There were three groups for the activity. One group male and two group female. Some of the facilitators also participated and enjoyed in the activity where each members has to be in line, holding each other’s hand and a ring has to be passed from one to another without touching by hand.
The game was really impressive and helpful in order to improve creativity and teamwork. Moreover, students enjoyed games and stressed out themselves. Some of the AiU students shared their education and living experience in AiU. They encourage students to be hard working in order to obtain success in life
The students received some token of love from AiU and final photo session took placed. The programme end with satisfaction and happiness. AiU EDU Team would like to do involve and arranged more activities like this in future.


Managing Stress with Healthy Living Club

Creating the healthy AIU community (students & staffs) with inner peace to bring about outer peace.

Organizing awareness program and practical activities on physiological and psychological healthy living practices to form well rounded students and staffs.
Alor Setar: On 23rd September Healthy Living Club held its first activity from 10:30am till 11.30am. These activities was carried out in order to create awareness regarding good and healthy life without stress.
Although many students were not able to join due to many activities clashing on the same day, the few members of this club had a good learning experience.
This program was enlightened by the Art of Living members as they gave lessons and showed techniques on reliving stress and some body relaxation methods.
“This event was a success even though of shortage of members we are going to continue with this activity very Saturdays in order to help the students and the Staff managing stress ,”stated by President of Meditation Club ,Sonam Dolma Lama,20 from Nepal
“Activities such as acting as animals and behaving like kids were really interesting and it made my day delightful because I really enjoyed laughing and learning some new methods of relaxing “stated by one participating Shahruk Hussain, 19 from Fiji.

Alor Setar: Around 80 students of Albukhary International University, AiU under Sustainable Livelihood Approaches (SLA), Microfinance (MF) group and that Student In-Free Enterprise (SIFE) conducted a site visit to Kampung Lembah Bujang Merbuk recently. This project also collaboration with Maybank Cooperate Responsibility (CR) and non- governmental organization known as Pencak Club.
This event was also attended by AIU Deputy Vice Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Omar Farouk Sheikh Ahmad and Head of Microfinance Project, Mohd Nazri Musir.
Mr. Shammaredza Sharoff, from AiU Student Affairs Department, said, “This is a beginning to build relationship for MF project before barge into the village and offer microfinance loan”.
Several activities were taken place such as colouring competition for the local kid, cooking and painting the mini library. Besides that the Sifer and SLA students also planted bamboo along the village street river bank to prevent soil erosion
The Voice Crew has interviewed one local villager Mr. Romli Bahar who loves painting. He displays many of his painting for public view. He indicated that cooperation from any institutions is needed in order to develop Bujang Valley as tourist destination.
“This will attract more people to come there so that it can improve the income and business of our local people” Rosmli added.
There was also a “silat” performance from Perguruan Silat Minangkabau which made this event quite enjoyable. This event was also recorded by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM).
The programme ended after prize and souvenirs giving ceremony to the local people.
